Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2026

Kim Victoria Jewels (ABN 74 072 966 755) is a one-person jewellery studio at 5 Nicholson Street, Brunswick East, Victoria. This policy explains what personal information I collect, why, and what happens to it. I handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What I collect

  • Contact and order details: your name, email, phone number, and billing and shipping address when you order, book an appointment or get in touch.
  • Commission details: for bespoke work, notes about your design, stones, ring size, budget and any heirloom pieces, along with quotes and correspondence.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by Shopify Payments, PayPal or Square. I never see or store your full card details.
  • Newsletter details: your email address, if you subscribe, and whether you open or click on emails.
  • Website usage: information about how you use this site, such as pages viewed, device and browser type and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar tools.

How I use it

  • To process and deliver orders, and to provide after-sales care, repairs and resizing.
  • To design, quote and make bespoke commissions.
  • To manage appointments and consultations.
  • To send newsletters, only if you have subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it, and to show relevant ads on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and Google.
  • To keep business, tax and accounting records, and to meet legal obligations.

I do not sell or rent your personal information.

Who I share it with

I use trusted service providers to run the studio. They only receive what they need to do their job:

  • Shopify: website, online store, orders, newsletter and forms
  • Shopify Payments, PayPal and Square: payment processing
  • Acuity: appointment booking
  • Zoom: video consultations
  • Xero: accounting and invoicing
  • Google Analytics and Google Ads: website analytics and advertising
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram): advertising and audience measurement
  • My own pricing and records system: commission quotes and client records, stored with secure cloud providers
  • Couriers and Australia Post: delivery
  • My stone-setter and other trade suppliers: only the details needed to complete your piece, such as stone and size, and never payment information

I may also disclose information where required by law, or to my accountant or legal advisers.

Overseas storage

Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States, Canada and Europe. I choose reputable providers with appropriate security protections.

Cookies and advertising

This site uses cookies for essential functions such as your cart, for analytics, and for advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although parts of the site may not work properly. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on, and adjust how Meta uses your information in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.

How long I keep it

Order and payment records are kept for at least five years, as required for tax purposes. Commission records may be kept longer, so I can help with future repairs, resizing or remakes. Information I no longer need is deleted.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete anything I am not required to keep. Email kim@kimvictoriajewels.com, and I will respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how your information has been handled, please email me first. If you are not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

I may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed.
